Unmaking/Becoming

Layered with acrylic and reactive metals such as copper and iron, the Unmaking/Becoming series is deeply rooted in the artist’s formative years in Northampton, Pennsylvania, shadowed by the monumental presence and decline of Bethlehem Steel. Through abstract forms and textured layers, the works reveal a landscape shaped not only by physical forces but by memory and resilience, capturing the delicate balance between unmaking and becoming within a shifting economic and cultural landscape—the physical and psychological terrain of a disappearing industrial world and what takes its place.
